ViewLift’s industry-leading distribution platform responsible for uptick in the advertising-based video on demand monetization growth.
NEW YORK — December 24, 2021 — ViewLift®, a global leader in end-to-end streaming and OTT solutions, today announced its success with two prominent customers in the national broadcast media sector through its advertising-based video on demand (AVOD) model.
According to a recent report, time spent on subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) platforms decreased 8.6% from the first quarter to the third quarter, while time spent on AVOD increased 9.3% during the same period. With consumers spending more time on AVOD models, broadcasters are shifting and adding channels to address viewer demands while driving revenue.
“AVOD streaming models are very popular with consumers as its free content attracts immense audiences, allowing increased targeted advertising placements and an increase in revenue for content owners,” said Manik Bambha, co-founder and president at ViewLift®. “Broadcasters are choosing AVOD as their OTT model for the growth in monetization and ease of use for consumers, two factors that will continue to rise in importance into 2022.”
Having an AVOD model in place allows audiences to watch content for free without the need for a cable or satellite subscription. This model provides companies an opportunity to increase revenue with growing audiences. This is the case for two of the largest national broadcast media companies who have witnessed revenue and viewer retention growth through their work with ViewLift®. By leveraging an AVOD model, the companies experienced an increase in OTT AVOD revenue across four channels. Additionally, all four broadcast and entertainment channels garnered over 9M streaming users in the past year alone. As a result, the two national broadcast companies have experienced revenue growth and viewer retention within months of the initial channel launches.
“Our national broadcast media partners recognize ViewLift’s exhaustive AVOD OTT expertise and count on us to provide a proven, scalable way to preserve and extend their market share without losing to media competitors,” said Rick Allen, CEO of ViewLift®. “As viewer preferences continue to change, companies must understand their audience, their needs and how to quickly address those for continued success.
