In late spring, we announced that ViewLift would become a part of DAZN; that deal has formally closed, so we are officially (as the logo above indicates) “a DAZN company”. In thanking my Chairman Ted Leonsis, our Board, colleagues, shareholders and clients for this now 19-year journey; and Sir Leonard Blavatnik, Shay Segev and our new colleagues at DAZN for their confidence in our future, I also want to lay out why we took this step and how it intersects with broader trends in technology, media and especially sports.
- We joined DAZN from a position of strength: 2026 will be our 8th year of profitability (with our largest free cashflow), and our second straight year of better-than 80% revenue growth. We acted not out of need, but from a belief in an even brighter future.
- We sought scale at a time when the marketplace demands it: DAZN opens up more client opportunities, and deeper benefits for our current clients.
- We intend to be truly global: DAZN’s reach is more than the 200 markets in which their platform is available – it’s their impact in major markets in Europe, Australia and Asia, and expansions in the US, Latin America and the Middle East, that offer our ViewLift products access to the totality of the sports universe, with added opportunities serving entertainment and news clients.
- And most fundamentally, we wanted to be part of DAZN’s uniquely comprehensive approach to the sports marketplace. Having spent nearly two decades with teams and leagues, we are convinced that these tenets of the DAZN approach are essential to align objectives of fans and rights holders with sustainable digital partners:
o Others offer a single business model to rights holders; DAZN now offers three, covering each of the principal client use cases:
For those seeking to operate their own DTC service, ViewLift will continue to provide its scalable B2B2C and SaaS model while leveraging DAZN’s global reach and technology. Our mission is to grow rapidly from our current stable of 17 teams and 6 RSNs with this model.
For those prioritizing financial predictability from their local rights, DAZN Exclusive provides the highest guaranteed revenue. The recently-announced Timberwolves deal is an example of this approach.
For those wanting to combine streaming with the broadest linear availability, or direct distribution contracts with cable and satellite partners, DAZN offers exclusive digital-only partnerships. The MSG and YES deals are examples.
o Importantly, DAZN allows partners to have a direct relationship with sports fans through access to comprehensive data sets. I think data is as valuable as dollars at this point in the evolution of streaming.
o And lastly, DAZN features top-of-the-class technology, with unmatched quality and stability; a scaled and high-performance product and tech team driving a fast-paced road map of innovation; and already-connected personalization, monetization and analytical tools.
Our ViewLift platform and our clients will benefit from these resources. And we look forward to sharing our detailed US sports knowledge with our new colleagues, and our cost-effective B2B2C platform with clients old and new.
In short, we’ve done the right deal at the right time with the right partner.
With gratitude to all who have made this possible, we commit to working even harder for our clients and their fans.
And we intend to have fun. Watch this sizzle reel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8y2uOi6iWXQ&authuser=0
